How to run a successful workshop

Workshop at Zasedáme

A good workshop doesn't start on the day of the event — it starts weeks earlier. If you want participants to leave with more than just a scribbled notepad and a full belly, you have to align the content with the setting. At Zasedáme we host dozens of workshops every month, and here are 7 field-tested steps to help you get the most out of yours:

1. Define the "Why" (not just the "What")

Before you send out invites, nail down the goal. Are you trying to solve a specific problem, generate new ideas, or bring a team together? A clear goal helps you pick the right room — for instance our Central for focused, quiet work, or the Large conference room if you need space for movement and group activities.

2. Pick a location that sets the tone

Location is the first message you send participants. Choose an address right on Wenceslas Square and you signal that the event matters. Great metro connections (lines A, B, C) and trains also mean everyone arrives on time and without transport stress.

3. The space needs to breathe (and have light)

Nothing kills creativity faster than a dark, windowless room. Our spaces rely on natural daylight and an inspiring view. Don't forget fresh air — air conditioning in every room is standard here.

4. Variability as the backbone of collaboration

A workshop is not a lecture. Forget school rows of chairs. Use flexible layouts — for creative sessions we recommend U-shape or islands, which encourage discussion. We'll set the furniture up exactly the way you need it.

5. AV that won't let you down

Thirty minutes wrestling with projector cables? A reliable energy killer. At Zasedáme we invest in modern tech — our 75" and 65" high-resolution TVs connect easily and stable high-speed Wi‑Fi is a given.

6. Brain food: catering that doesn't put people to sleep

A heavy traditional lunch turns the afternoon session into a battle with sleep. That's why with our bespoke catering we recommend lighter options: fresh fruit, great coffee and snacks that keep participants sharp until the end.

7. Don't forget the wrap-up and follow-up

A workshop ends with an action plan. Photograph the filled-in whiteboards and send them to participants while impressions are still fresh. With us you also get an extra hour in the price for setup and tidy-up, so you don't have to rush once the session ends.
